Director NoBullying2020 / NEUROLOGY SPECIALIST

Dr Meril Platzer. has been a Neurologist for over 30 years in the Los Angeles area. A single mother of three, one with special needs Autism and a younger son who recently attempted to commit suicide. My journey has not been easy…
When I entered Medical School only 10% of the class were women. We had to prove ourselves by obtaining better grades as well as the ridicule of why we wanted to be a doctor. Discrimination existed with the patients and families assuming we were nurses or served other jobs in the hospital setting.  Over time, the climate of the medical world changed with more women and minorities entering the field of medicine. The doors opened slowly.

I was one of the first female Neurologists in the San Fernando Valley and have survived successfully in the community 32 years.    Recently I experienced the anguish of being a mother of a child who wanted to take his own life. The pain of a child’s suffering is unbearable.  The treatment of a family member in the hospital setting was below the standard of care.  Fighting for my child’s survival and ensuring good care was a challenge. I have learned to be an advocate for my patients and used my expertise and resilience to obtain the best care I could for my son.  My passion is excellent patient care but more importantly respect for those patients and families.

I’m a survivor!  I maintained a solo practice as a Neurologist, single mother of three children, advocate for the American Academy of Neurology, knocking on the doors of Congressmen and Senators in Washington DC and an expert in the field of dementia especially Alzheimer’s dementia locally and on a more national level.  Early detection and quality of the Alzheimer’s patient are important and what I strive for.  I have been an expert for Alzheimer’s patients and their families including the Donald Sterling trial.  It is not always easy to be in this position and at times have been criticized and bullied to change my position which I never succumbed to.

Perseverance, Passion, and Time Leads to Success!

Todd Trites

Director NoBullying2020 / Real Estate professional

I was introduced to the CEO/ Founder Rasheed Lateef of NoBullying2020 in early 2019. It was after that introduction that I was personally committed to the foundations vision to eradicate Bullying from our Society.

Growing up, it seemed that I was the one who was helping others that were experiencing some form of bullying because morally, that was the right thing to do. I started more as a referee or mediator but it morphed into a role of an educator and a leader.

My formal education: BSc 81’ (MAU), BBA 84’ (UNB), O.D.96’ (IAU) and UCLA Extension (Real Estate).

The Practical work experience: (10 years) Corporate Management with an Oil Company, (15 years) in Health Care at private and group practice as an Eye Doctor. For the past (10 years) I have been helping my clients reach their financial goals through Residential and Commercial Real Estate transactions.

My philanthropic passions have reached to many foundations and organizations. However the Shiner’s Children’s Hospital, MEND, and Hope of the Valley helping those who are less fortunate were the most rewarding. Volunteering has also trended locally towards coaching and mentoring, though schools and special events.

Rick Seamen

Director NoBullying2020 / Hollywood Stunt Driving School

My name is Rick Seaman I have been one of Hollywood’s top stunt drivers since 1968. In 1997, I opened the Motion Picture Driving Clinic Inc. where, since then, I have trained over 2,500 up and coming stunt people on the art of stunt driving.  The school is the only stunt driving school recognized by the film and TV industry in all of North America.  In 2004, I included a class for problematic teenage drivers to help them become safer, defensive, undistracted and in-full-control drivers. This program has worked with over 500 teen drivers with great success.  Then in 2013, I, a disabled Vietnam combat veteran, embarked on a training program to rehabilitate wounded soldiers suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) whose drivers’ licenses were revoked. The program titled “Back Behind The Wheel” offers 2 and 3 day programs where the students are able to feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel.  My class itinerary starts with basic in-car familiarization, slow speed driving, then working up to traffic speeds. As the class advances, the students are put into various stress situations and skill building drills. My training formula, I found this progressive, step-by-step approach to be very effective. “Personal attention in a private and controlled environment has been the key to our success”.  Traumatic brain injury is classified in three levels; mild, moderate and severe.  Most of my students are moderate, although in 2016, he trained a young man who was rated at severe, a rating that had never seen one with this impairment manage to get their driving privileges restored. I guess we beat the stat sheet with this young man, as he is now driving with a full, unrestricted driver’s’ license.” (video available).  Regardless of whether these folks do get re-licensed or not, the most important result is that they get an opportunity to feel the joy and freedom of driving again. This creates hope for them, rather than despair. For our returning war veterans with TBI, this is the least that we can do.” I met Rasheed Lateef through Dr. Meril Platzer and she wanted us to meet because she thought it would be a great match. I loved what Rasheed Lateef / Global Content Media was doing to help kids and the veterans who were being bullied when they returned from service. Rasheed invited me to his event on November 30th I saw a man who had all the right people gathered together who believed in their campaign like their slogan “BeThe Voice To Help Stop Bullying” I Got Chill Bumps!!!  GCM is making a real difference in our communities and all around the nation. I said I’m In.  My company will continues to address Veterans’ needs through strategic partnerships with other foundations, community and federal partners and will continue to serve our veterans proudly.

We support Global Content Media National Anti Bullying and Suicide Awareness Campaign

Dr. Margaret Brown

Director NoBullying2020 / Minister /Humanitarian

Margaret Brown-Hurst sets an example as a woman who has devoted her life to help the less fortunate. After the tragic death of her grandson, Lamajze Donnell-Brown, to a serious birth defect Margaret became determined to assist others who also must cope with the misfortune of a birth defect. She gave up her career to focus her full-time attention to this goal. Her commitment has resulted in the establishment of The Lamajze Gastroschisis Memorial Foundation and The Lamajze Birth Defect and Fetal Health Institute, both centered in San Diego, California.

Lamajze was born with Gastroschisis, an abdominal wall defect of unknown origin, and underwent eleven major surgeries at Children’s Hospital of San Diego before succumbing after little more than one year of life. Margaret supported her son and daughter-in-law in their grief as well as dealing with her own. But instead of cursing the darkness Dr. Brown-Hurst has undertaken to light a candle that will be bright enough to light the world. Shortly after Lamajze’s death Margaret decided to begin work on creating an organization that would contribute to breakthroughs in the prevention and treatment of birth defects as well as improve the quality of life for those children and families afflicted with birth defects. Her plans include assistance to families worldwide in locating and accessing specialized care and support. Her son, Jason, has become the CEO and president of the Lamajze Foundation.

Dr. Brown-Hurst’s effectiveness in achieving her vision was demonstrated earlier in her career when she founded the Worldwide Crusade for Peace in 1993. In this capacity the U.S. government sent her to Russia and other communist countries as a “world peace ambassador” in 1998. In the course of this work Margaret has been privileged to interact with notable persons such as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Camillia Sadat, and the daughter of Nelson Mandela.

Margaret was raised in the San Francisco Bay area where she was a fashion model. She obtained a degree in nursing and also attended the Calvary Bible Institute. She received a Ph.D. in Theology from Bell Grove Theological Seminary.

She has been the recipient of several awards of recognition including the “100 Heroes” award from the California Black Sports Hall of Fame and the Humanitarian Award from the Southern California Motion Picture Council. Dr. Brown-Hurst has been in Dayton Ohio for the past two years and there received an American Red Cross Medical Hero Award and was honored as a Women of Influence from the YWCA. In May she will be recognized by Essence Magazine for her accomplishments.

I truly see life as a challenge for changing human lives.

Nikki Kingham

Director NoBullying2020 / Realtor / Philanthropist

I was born in Germany and I was raised up in Egypt with a very warm family where family comes first .
In Egypt there is no colors and everyone is equal race was not an issue.   We honor human beings.
I moved to the United States, I got married, had two beautiful girls and unfortunately I got bullied by my husband’s family because I was from Egypt.  As a divorcee’s I experienced homeless, sexual-harassment and the affect this can have on a single mother with two girls.
I became a hard-working single mom I struggled a lot on my own to raise up my two daughters as good as my dad had raised me up.
I got more involved in my community and start investing and supporting the homeless, senior, women with kids, I spent time educating  teenagers about drugs and Healthier Sex Practices.  I also mentor and support them till they become independent.
I have always honored our military and veterans who have sacrificed their lives to save our country.  When I saw what Nobullying2020 was doing  with the veterans and the kids I got in touched with the CEO of Nobullying2020 Rasheed Lateef and the rest will be history.
As a realtor I am able to help a lot of homeless and refugees in my community to get them homes and get them the help that they need to start their new life.  When I met Rasheed and I saw how much Nobullying2020 were involved in helping communities, The kids, The veterans, empowering woman, Nobullying2020 go’s out to the schools they talk to the students about bullying and suicide prevention with passion.  Mr. Lateef and all of us really care about the issue of bullying and suicide that effects us all in our daily lives.

She is the CEO of her own record label, producer, manager, singer, rapper,, songwriter, photographer, etc. She was strongly influenced by her mother to own her own company because of the leadership she showed in the life when she lived .

Bullying in todays world comes in many forms and its sad . Working with young children makes me view things completely different than I did before.  Some of my students deal with bullying and I then see the hurt in their eyes. Bullying is dear to me only because I dealt with it in grade school myself.  I was one to cry and wish that I was able to stand up for myself in a matter . Now that I have matured as a woman , I have joined NoBully2020 and am proud to stand with anti-bullying because its not okay.

NoBully2020 is not just a foundation or company , it’s another form of Family. We are SAYING STOP BULLYING.
It is sad that children are thinking of hurting themselves because of this powerful thing called BULLYING
